Some mind blowing aspects of breast milk.
Well for one ☝️ it’s alive!!
It’s changes with the child’s needs.
Does the child need more liquid now in these summer month it turns more watery. Is he in the middle of a growth spurt it will thicken to rich fats and proteins.
At night breast milk contains more serotonin which will help the child sleep.
If the child is sick by breastfeeding it’s salvia will send information to the mothers body and then it will create antibodies which will then be passed back to the child in the milk!!!!
Well it’s rich in probiotics and so help the child’s gut to develop. Breastfeeding while introducing solids helps the stomach handle new things much better, such as wheats and lactose.
It can be put on any cut, scare, ear infection, eye infection and it heals like magic. (Also if a woman Tore during birth it can help the wound heal faster)
It has been proven that breastfeeding your child can reduce a lot of common illnesses such as allergies, asthma, infections…
You get to have a lot of skin to skin contact which helps the body of especially a new born to regulate its temperature, heart beat and breathing.
AND You always have the milk bar right with you at the perfect temperature.
(I purposely chose to write child instead of baby. Baby’s are only baby’s a very short period of time and breastfeeding can go on as long as child and mother are happy with it.)
This list could go much longer but one step at a time. This is only a pinch of what it does to the baby, we also have a lot of benefits for the mother.
Breastfeeding benefits for the mother:
•reduces risk of osteoporosis
•reduces risk of breast cancer
•reduces risk of ovarian cancer
•reduces risk of diabetes
•reduces risk of hypertension
•reduces risk endometriosis
•burns lots and lots of calories
•reduces risk of postpartum depression as we get flooded with a cocktail of happy hormones, such as oxytocin (same one we produce when we Orgasm)
•also oxytocin will help our uterus to contact to its original size
•saves us a lot of money, heating bottles, sterilizing bottles and finding the right formula
•increases self esteem and calmness
•helps to bond mother with her child
Breastfeeding your children takes a lot of time and patients. It’s not always easy especially at the beginning.
It’s the mothers decision to breastfeed and how long she would like to do it. But I do believe it’s important to make a conscious decision on why you choose one or the other.
There are many lactation consultants to support mothers who are having difficulties.
