It is an art, a culture, a ritual. It’s a
verb that means to cover or envelope oneself.
I have had the honor to take part in a magical course with @olga_pinero last weekend learning the art of Rebozo.
I’m filled with gratitude to having spend a weekend full of new knowledge. Sharing it with fascinating woman and female energy. Not only the woman present but also the wisdom and energy from woman going down generations.
There are so many things that could be said about the Rebozo, it’s origins and it’s path. But it would be way to long for one post.. so I invite you to do that research yourself.
But here are my thoughts:
It’s a great way to come back to ourselves.
The massage for me is the physical aspect of opening hips, creating mobility. But way past the physical aspects is being held by female energy. The caring, the nurturing, the feeling of being held, held tight. Feeling save in the arms of a woman. You are physically letting go into the arms of the cotton fabric that has been made by woman for woman.
Coming back to one self, feeling oneself protected.
It makes me think of a butterfly. Of having to come into the shelter first, into the cocoon to them come out with your wings. Your empowerment.
The magic of tradition and rituals. The magic of woman coming together for woman. Women being held by woman.
I can see it’s powers in pregnancy, to ease tensions, to connect with the body and mind. I can see it in Labour, to help a women in hours of desperation to hold her if needed, in creating a change when there is a moment of being stuck. I can see its power in postpartum, when a woman went on to be a mother, to nurture her, to create enclosure, to create space on ending a chapter and staring a new.
And for all the woman around the world with what ever fase they might find themselves in to get that female energy and nurture.
Thank you @olga_pinero and @anandi.iris and all the beautiful woman who where part of the weekend. Thank you to @espai.ixent to give us a space to make it possible.
